It is Election Day, 2020, and my husband quizzed me on how I will react if the election does not go the way that I like. I told him that I might act as I had four years ago when I was in Fort Lauderdale for continuing education courses. I was staying at Home 2, and I ran and screamed throughout my suite. What stopped me from having a complete breakdown was that in two days, I would be on an inaugural cruise on the Harmony of the Seas. A free stateroom with a balcony and the inspection of the different types of cabins, entertainment centers, and eating and drinking spots (all comped) took a lot of the pain away.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) allowed their no-sail order to expire, allowing the American river and ocean cruises to deploy. CDC, along with several cruise lines to design the Healthy Sail Panel, a 74 detailed best safety practices to eliminate the risk of COVID-19 to passengers and crew. The guidelines would also prevent the further spread of COVID-19 from cruise ships into U.S. communities and protect public health. The report of the conference showed that 75 percent of the participants favored testing and that 85 percent supported facial covering. So, I may be able to cruise for Christmas again. The spiritual holiday along with transversing the Caribbean Sea would be so soothing.
